You can become a member of American Mensa in one of two ways:
If you’re age 14 or older, you can take a supervised, standardized test in your area with one of our certified member volunteers.
And anyone can submit evidence of prior testing in the form of scores from a supervised, standardized test like the Stanford Binet, the Miller Analogies Test or the GMAT.
Testing is available throughout the Western Pennsylvania area. Contact our test proctor coordinator for more information on testing dates and locations.
Please note that American Mensa cannot test anyone who is not at least 14 years of age on the date of the test; however, they may submit prior evidence for membership in the form of scores from a supervised, standardized test like the Stanford Binet, the Miller Analogies Test or the GMAT. Also Mensa offers a battery of culture-fair, non-language tests. The test fee is $40.
The Mensa Admission Test takes two hours to complete and includes two tests featuring questions involving logic and deductive reasoning.
If you score at or above the 98th percentile on either of the two tests, you’ll qualify and be invited to join Mensa.
